First Lady Anita Barnes
Born to Royal Dennis and Lucille Briggs in Union City, Tennessee. Anita graduated from the former Miles High School in Union City. In high school Anita played the bell lyre in band, played piano very well and was also a very good basketball player. She was given the name “Pepper” for her shooting ability by her coach. Anita graduated from Lane College where she B.A. in education. She later attended the University of Tennessee at Martin and earned her M.S. in education in education, her doctorate of Divinity from Midwest College of Theology. Anita taught 34 years in the Union City School System before retiring. Anita has received numerous awards in her professional career, she also served as the president of the local teachers union.
First Lady Anita Barnes is the wife of Pastor Harry Barnes and is the mother of two children, Harry Jr. and Iva May. She also has four grandchildren, Mack E. Moore III, Shaquille Robinson and Anita Christina Watson.
Pastor Harry Barnes
Born to Russell Patton and Dorothy Barnes-Warford in Union City, Tennessee, harry is a graduate of former Miles High School in Union City, TN. While at Miles he was a band member playing the alto saxophone and played basketball. Harry graduated from Miles High as the valedictorian of this class. He received numerous scholarships and decided to go to Owen Junior College in Memphis, Tennessee. He served in the U.S. Army and later became commissioned as Lt. in the National Guard.
Harry retired from Kohler as human resource manager to engage full time as pastor of Faith Temple COGIC. Harry earned his BS in business from Bethel College and the Master of Divinity from Mid West College of Theology. Harry is the husband of Anita E. Barnes and the father of two children Harry Jr. and Iva May. Harry and Anita have four grandchildren, Mack E. Moore III, Shaquille Robinson, Anna Moore and Anita Christine Watson.
